Alexander's Top Tips

It is a wise precaution every so often to raise your 2CV, remove the tie rod eyes and thoroughly clean and inspect them for signs of wear or cracking. The hexagon type are prone to cracking and can cause suspension faliure.

Check your knife edges for wear as well and when re-assembling thoroughly grease these components.

Restorations

2CV Custom This 2CV was a bespoke restoration for a local customer on an original 2CV chassi with all running gear blasted to bear metal, hot zinc sprayed and powder coated. All other items were stripped to bare metal, zinc primed and coated in synthetic enamel. The chassis was stripped, hot zinc sprayed, coated in synthetic enamel and emmersed in anoil bath to fully rustproof the chassis. The engine was fully rebuilt with electronic ignition and engine bay fully detailed to show specification. Finally the body was assembled, finished with a special paint scheme, bespoke interior, seats and alloy wheels. This car attends several car shows a year and continues to be regulary serviced and maintained by ourselves.

Charleston This Charleston was another bespoke ground up rebuild on a galvanised chassis. All running gear was blasted to bare metal, hot zinc sprayed and powder coated and all components stripped to bare metal, zinc primed and coated in synthetic enamel. The engine was completely rebuilt retaining original points ignition and the engine bay fully detailed to show specification. Everything was completed to original Charleston specification with no expence spared.
